Christian Aid - Cut the Carbon Birmingham

A day off from the Greenbelt Festival allowed me to travel up to Birmingham for the bank holiday Monday to deliver the third of the four Christian AidCut the Carbon’ rallies for Affinity Events.

Christian Aid - Cut the Carbon Birmingham

The terrible weather this summer meant that at the very last minute we had to change the site from Cannon Hill Park to the hard-standing outside the Science Centre. The change meant that all of the site plans, risk assessments, emergency plan and march route had to be re-scheduled and re-written with just a week to go. The site was built for 5,000 people and although Lemar headlined the event (with support from a number of other bands) we didn’t quite have that number in attendance.

The march through the city streets went well, and we were ready in plenty of time for the start of the event, despite having to bring all event infrastructure, technical production equipment, toilets and staging in on the morning of the event

The site worked well, and the weather was at least on our side for this one.
