MAYC Breakout
MAYC hold their Breakout event every two years, but for the first time in 2008 took their event to the rolling Derbyshire hills to create a mini-festival for the 1.500 or so young people who came to the event.
Working with their event agency Affinity Events I was responsible for working with and managing the MAYC volunteers to deliver the site infrastructure, campsite and venues.

My role involved all of the pre-planning for the event, attending meetings, ensuring that all paperwork was in place, budget management and health & safety planning.
The breakout event is designed to bring together the MAYC members from around the UK and give them an opportunity to take part in activities which the wouldn’t otherwise get the opportunity to do.

With two big top venues and numerous marquees I had my work cut out to manage the site – but luckily the weather came together for the event and we managed a few dry days (although it did rain for the get-out).
