Lambeth Conference - London Day

As part of my work on the Lambeth Conference (for Affinity Events), today I’ve been in London helping to manage the ‘Lambeth Walk’ which saw about 1,500 bishops, spouses and church members take to the streets of London to walk for the end of poverty.

I played a support role today, making sure that the event management team, equipment and infrastructure were in the right places as well as being responsible for writing the event planning document and health & safety paperwork (nearly 200 pages in total).

Working with Affinity and other stakeholders (including Scotland Yard and the World’s media) the event went very well and was followed by afternoon tea at Buckingham Palace for all those involved with the event. It was nice to spend some time at an event and not be organising it(!) but I did have to help the event management team direct 36 coaches along the Mall first – not many people can say that they’ve parked cars at the Buckingham Palace…
